Privacy policy
Architect World is made by Workaholic Developers (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the website at thearchitectworld.com (also served at architectworld.wdlab.app), the computer version at /app/, the iPhone, iPad and Android apps, and the directory of studios. It describes what our code does today; when that changes, we change this page first.
The short version
- No advertising, no analytics, no tracking cookies, and nothing loaded from other companies on the website or in the computer version.
- We keep what you and your studio put in so that we can run your projects, and we use it only for that.
- We never sell your data or your clients’ data.
- Identity documents are encrypted, seen only by our verification staff and deleted 90 days after the decision.
- You can delete your account from the app at any time.
The website and the directory
The website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies. Our server keeps no access logs for this site; it keeps error logs only, which do not record who visited. The home page reads the current plan prices from our own server.
When you write to a studio with “Contact this studio”, we keep what you typed (your name, email or mobile number, the city, the type of project, the budget, your message and the page’s language) and pass it to that studio only. We keep neither your IP address nor your device. To stop spam we count messages per connection for an hour; the count is then discarded.
Accounts
To sign up we need your name, your email address and a password, which we store only as a secure hash. You can add a mobile number and a photo, and choose your language and look. Sign-in codes go by email, are stored only as a hash and expire after 10 minutes. Each signed-in device has its own key and is listed in More › Devices with its name and platform, where you can sign it out.
Studios and verification
A studio’s owner gives the studio’s name, logo, type, team size, COA registration number, GSTIN, cities, services, experience, a description and portfolio pictures or videos. The directory shows only the public part (name, logo, cities, services, experience, description and portfolio), and only while the studio is verified, active and listed; a studio can hide its profile.
For verification the owner uploads an identity document. It is encrypted on our server, never shown in the apps, opened only by our verification staff (every view is logged) and deleted 90 days after our decision.
Projects, drawings and files
Studios add their clients (names, contact details, addresses, GSTINs), projects, stages, tasks, comments, time, site visits, drawings, models, markup, change requests, approvals, fees, invoices, payments, expenses, meetings and agreements. The studio decides what goes in; we keep it to provide the service. Pictures are re-encoded without their location data (site photos keep the time they were taken). Files are served only through signed links that expire.
When a client approves a drawing or signs an agreement, the record keeps how the code was sent, the time, the IP address and the device or browser used, so the approval or signature can be relied on later. The studio and the client both see this record.
Who sees what
- Your studio: each person sees what their role allows (draftsmen never see money; site engineers see only their projects).
- Clients: only the projects they are invited to, the drawing versions the studio shares, and their own invoices and agreements.
- Guests: only what a studio shares with them by name.
- Our staff: platform admins and support staff, for verification, billing and support. Support can open a read-only view of an account only through a single-use code made for that purpose; every use is logged.
Payments
Clients pay their architect directly by UPI or bank transfer. Architect World never receives or holds that money; the studio records it. The UPI QR code is made on your device.
Studios pay for plans on our own checkout page through Razorpay, which processes the payment under its own privacy policy. We keep the order, the amounts, Razorpay’s payment reference and our invoice; we never see card numbers or UPI PINs.
Notifications and email
If you allow notifications, your device’s push token and the text of each notification go to Apple’s push service (iPhone and iPad) or, once it is switched on, Google’s (Android). Emails (codes, invites, invoices, reminders) go through our mail provider. You choose which notifications you get, and quiet hours, in More › Notifications.
Meetings
Video meetings run on SeeUAll, another product of ours. To make a room we send SeeUAll only the meeting’s title and agenda. Joining the room is covered by SeeUAll’s own privacy policy.
Support and start-up reports
Messages you send from Help and support, and our replies, are kept with your account. If the computer version fails to open, it sends us a short report: the error text (with emails, codes, link details and long numbers removed), the app version, the browser’s name and version, the operating system, the screen size and the language. It is not linked to you or your account, carries no IP address and is deleted after 30 days.
In your browser
The computer version keeps your sign-in key for the open tab only (it ends when the tab closes), your language and look, and an offline copy of the app so that it opens quickly. It sets no cookies. Repair on the loading screen removes the offline copy.
Assistant features (not switched on)
Architect World has three assistant features that are built but not switched on: turning notes from a client meeting into a brief, suggesting a project’s stages and fee schedule, and summarising a change request. They are never offered in the iPhone and iPad apps. Until we switch them on, nothing is sent anywhere for them. When they are on (in the Android app and the computer version only, and only when a studio person asks for one):
- The words you speak are turned into text by your phone’s or browser’s own speech service; we receive only the text, and only when you send it.
- What is needed for the answer goes from our server to Anthropic (the maker of Claude), which writes the answer under its commercial terms and does not use it to train its models: the notes you send; or a project’s type, name, brief, budget, start date and stage names; or a change request’s text, its pins and comments (never fees or amounts).
- We keep the answer and a fingerprint (hash) of the question for 90 days, so the same question costs nothing twice, and a monthly count per studio. We do not keep what was sent.
How long we keep things
- Your account and your studio’s data: while the account exists. When a plan ends the studio becomes read-only; nothing is deleted.
- Identity documents: 90 days after our decision.
- Notifications in the app: read ones 90 days, all of them 180 days.
- Start-up reports: 30 days.
- Our invoices to studios: as long as tax law requires.
Deleting your account
In the app, open More › Profile › Delete account. This removes your sign-ins, your memberships, your photo and any studio in which you are the only person, with its files. A studio’s only owner with a team must first make someone else an owner. The records a studio keeps about its own clients belong to that studio. Write to us if you need help.
Where it is kept
On our own server, rented from a hosting company. We do not use your data for advertising and do not sell it to anyone.
Children
Architect World is for professionals and their clients. It is not meant for children.
